Dental caries
María Luisa Carcedo left the Government in 2020, regretting that she had no time to start this public health project.
“With the development level of Spanish society, we cannot continue to maintain that people with fewer resources cannot satisfy all their oral health needs”, I said then.
On average, each Spanish person pays 305 euros per year for dental treatment, and many people can allow it.
In Europe, the 57% of citizens goes to the dentist at least once a year. In Spain, the percentage is 43%. The 95% for Spanish adults has dental caries y 8 out of every 10 suffer from periodontal diseases, according to the Eurobarometer.
