Developed in 2007, the program São Paulo Tax Invoice intends to offset part of the taxes paid on items and services for consumers. This is an organization of the Government of the State of São Paulo together with city halls to encourage contributions, reducing hidden taxes.

The main focus is to induce buyers to collect invoices when paying for your items and/or services. As compensation, citizens can redeem up to 30% from the Tax on Negotiations related to the Circulation of Goods and Provision of Services (ICMS).

When paying for a good or service on the State of São Paulo, you must request the addition of your CPF or CNPJ of your institution on the invoice.

Thus, the amounts will be accumulated and then granted and can even be changed to a current account held by you, through a bank account.

Transfers are made every six months from a value of R$25.00 or you can also choose to accumulate the amounts to be deducted from the IPTU and also the IPVA – next year.

How to register

For both individuals (CPF) and legal entities (CNPJ), registration is done as follows:

2. Enter your requested data such as: CPF or CNPJ, mother's full name and date of birth;

3. Then, the “Consumer Data” page will open, where you will complete the pending information;

4. Finally, your registration will be complete and you will be able to use the portal as a new registered citizen.

How to follow up:

1. Navigate to the official site the São Paulo Tax Invoice;

2. Enter your CPF or CNPJ and the password created during registration for access;

3. Choose the period you want to see;

4. Press “consult”;

5. Done! All notes for the period will appear on your screen. Since you now know all the advantages of this program, you no longer need to be in doubt when providing your CPF for the note.
